Ducharme Dog Training Company was founded by Paige Ducharme with a simple goal - to help dogs and their owners better understand one another and build a stronger relationship through training.
Our BLUE Training Method focuses on understanding the “why” behind a dog’s behavior. By taking the time to learn how our dogs communicate, think, and respond to the world around them, we can create better communication, encourage positive behaviors, and help every dog become the best version of themselves.
We believe training is about more than having a dog who listens. It’s about building trust, confidence, and a relationship you can be proud of. Every dog deserves an owner who understands them—and every owner deserves a dog they can truly connect with.
Meet Paige Ducharme
Paige Ducharme got their first dog, Blue, at 12 years old—but their journey working with dogs began at just 15.
Paige started at Sniffer Station in Highland, Michigan, where they were hired by Bill Dehaan as a “runner.” Starting at the bottom meant everything from bringing dogs between play yards and their families to cleaning kennels, bowls, and anything else that needed it. Having grown up on a horse farm, Paige was no stranger to hard work—and getting to spend every day around dogs made it worthwhile.
Over the years, Paige grew into the kennel environment, eventually moving into the yards where they helped create and monitor play groups, prepared meals and medications, and helped train new staff. After graduating high school, Paige attended Oakland University, earning a degree in Business with the hope of combining their love for dogs with their knowledge of business to build a career working with animals.
While spending time in Northern Texas, Paige joined PlayStayTion Pet Resort & Training, where they were introduced to professional dog training. That experience sparked a passion they hadn’t realized could become a career.
Paige returned home to Michigan and has been pursuing that passion ever since. Today, they run the training program at Dandy Acres Dog Lodge, and started Ducharme Dog Training Company where they work to help dogs and their owners better understand one another and build stronger relationships.
Outside of training, Paige enjoys life in Michigan with their family, boyfriend, and two dogs, Minnie and Roy.
